The restaurant has been in operation since around 1980, making it a long-standing fixture in the local community. Over the decades, it has developed a reputation as a dependable, family-friendly establishment serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner at any time of day.

The site on which Lucky Loggers stands carries its own historical significance. The shopping plaza where the restaurant is located was built in the early 1960s on what had once been a drying yard for the Deering Lumber Company sawmill. This connection to Maine’s logging industry directly inspired the restaurant’s theme. Inside, the décor reflects this heritage, featuring murals of log drives on the Saco River and displays of antique logging tools, giving diners a visual link to the region’s past.

Before becoming Lucky Loggers, the location had earlier ties to logging culture as well. It was once associated with a business named “Wangan,” referencing the supply boats that followed log drivers to provide food during river drives. This continuity of theme helped shape the identity of the modern restaurant.
